I am proud to have dedicated 19 years of service to the Utah County Assessor's office as the Farmland Assessment Analyst. Throughout my career, I have built strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including Farmers, Ranchers, Landowners, City Governments, Title Companies, Real Estate Agents, Attorneys, Developers, as well as County Employees and Departments.
My commitment has always been to uphold the sanctity of private property rights, a cornerstone of our community's trust and well-being. I believe in a transparent and fair government, one where the Constitution and state and county laws are not only respected but applied equally to everyone. It is this belief and my extensive experience that I bring to the table, aiming to continue to serve the citizens of Utah County with integrity and dedication.

Effective leadership isn't about knowing everything; it's about recognizing the strengths in others and bringing together a team of educated, experienced and expert individuals. Utah County already boasts an incredible team! What they now need is a leader who trusts, supports, and encourages them. As Utah County undergoes rapid changes fostering cooperation and collaboration between the County and its cities becomes increasingly vital. My approach to leadership is grounded in action and unity, not grandstanding or self-interest. I am committed to rolling up my sleeves and building upon the strong foundations that have already made Utah County a desirable place to live and work. Together, we can ensure that our county not only adapts to change but thrives, maintaining the sense of community and quality of life that we all value.

I was born in Murray, Utah while my father was attending the University of Utah. My father was born and raised in Spanish Fork, UT and my mother was born and raised in Heber City, UT. Both of their families were long time residents of those communities back to pioneer days. On both sides of my family relatives have served as Community leaders and builders including Mayor, County Clerk, County Council, County Treasurer, Army leadership, Water Masters, City Council, Blacksmiths and Sawmill builders.
As an infant my family moved to California where my father was employed as a professor at a Community College in the Imperial Valley. I grew up in El Centro, CA where I graduated from High School in 1979. I worked various jobs for the US Forest Service in Big Bear and Alpine, CA and Heber City, UT. I taught English as a Second Language at El Centro School District. During my time living in El Centro I experienced firsthand the difficult task of Border Security and immigration living only 13 miles from the Mexico border.
After getting married I lived 8 years at Edwards AFB as a Military spouse. Two of my three children were born on that base. I had experiences that will always be fond memories living at Edwards Air Force Base like riding my horse across the desert and having a B-2 bomber fly over so low the pilot waved at me. During my time there I made an effort to always attend Patriotic Ceremonies and space shuttle landings with my young children while teaching them love and respect for our Country and those who serve and sacrifice for our freedom. I still get goosebumps and tears when I see the missing man fly over.
In 1994 I moved to Cedar City, UT after my divorce where I went back to school at SUU to earn a bachelor's degree in agriculture. Being a single Mother and having to fight for years to receive any child support, I knew that it was up to me to support and uplift my family. After graduation in 1999 (20 years after graduating High School) I moved my 3 children to Spanish Fork where I began managing my family's 100 year old farm.
I began work at the Utah County Assessor's Office in the fall of 2004.
Through my life experiences I have learned how to work, be resourceful, be an Advocate for myself and my family, stand up to injustices, be involved in my community, take advantage of every opportunity to reach and grow while building lifelong healthy supportive relationships. My life has been an amazing adventure and journey with struggles and triumphs. I am continuing my journey as I reach and grow to be the next Utah County Commissioner.
